# Compositions

In HoloEdit, **Compositions** are the starting point for editing volumetric video. Each composition contains one or more pieces of edited volumetric video called **Tracks**. Each track contains volumetric data streams and HoloEdit editing stages to produce a single clip of volumetric video. 

This section contains a basic overview of compositions and their contents.
