HoloStream 2021.1.2 Release Notes¶
New Features¶
Web Player¶
Updated playback UI on preview webplayer
Fixed an issue with the buffering spinner
Fixed an issue with the large Play button
Fixed an issue with the volume controller
Fixed an issue with the seek bar length not correctly matching clip duration
Numerous performance and reliability enhancements have been made across all major browsers (Chrome, FireFox, Safari, Edge)
These updates are backwards compatible with all existing uploaded content while using our default player
If you're using a custom UI, seek has been changed to use absolute time values (previously it was percentage-based)
Uploader¶
The Uploader is now used to initiate a job on the remote server, which will be used to process your clip online rather than locally
This greatly simplifies the process of generating a streaming clip and reduces the amount of local resources required
The Uploader can still be used to update a clip using an existing Content ID
Upload security is now handled using Arcturus license credentials
You will be prompted to sign in via a browser window during the upload process
Credentials will be stored for a short time (~1 day)
Upload for Streaming (HoloEdit)¶
Streaming content can be processed using Export Composition > Streaming in HoloEdit
This will package and upload a clip directly from HoloEdit, using our remote job servers
Improvements¶
HoloStream Plugin¶
Numerous performance and reliability enhancements have been made to the plugin across iOS and Android platforms
Uploader¶
Fixed an issue with manifest generation that could cause clips to freeze early in playback
Fixed an issue with manifest generation that would cause clips to not play on iOS
It is recommended that any clips which experienced either of these issues should be re-processed using the [Uploader](uploader-mpd). If you continue to experience any issues, please contact our support team.
